About the event

This illustrated talk will explore PEI's habitats from sandy beaches and salt marshes to fields and forests.  We'll look at some common and easy-to-find plants that are useful in the kitchen and others that have proven medicinal benefits.  It's important for foragers to know - and avoid - toxic species, and the talk will include some of our most poisonous plants as well.  While I'm not a mushroom expert, I will throw in a few beginner-level mushrooms that I enjoy, and that just about anyone can try.  Registration is now open at this link.
