About the event
We'll walk through meadow, old field woodland, and mature forest while identifying a range of edible and medicinal plants (and a few mushrooms!). I enourage people to use ALL their senses in plant identification and so we'll touch, smell, and even taste a few. Â I'll throw in some local natural history and ecology as well - whether you're a lifelong Islander or recent arrival, you'll learn new things about PEI at this workshop.
This site is a natural-surface walking trail that includes exposed roots and rocks in some areas. The terrian is hilly (by PEI standards). Comfortable sturdy hiking shoes or boots are recommended. This event goes rain or shine (within reason). Registration opens about a month before the event and is limited to 18 people to ensure a quality experience.
