PEI's drowned forests
Readers of Atlantic Canada's Saltwire newspapers may have noticed one of today's Photos of the Day comes from PEI. My photo of a rooted tree stump well below the high tide mark at Povery Beach was featured. This is part of a drowned forest at this site, one of many around the Island's coast. To read more about drowned forests and other local evidence of the Island's glacial history, you can check out "Permian to Present 5: Post-glacial evidence" in the Natural History section of my blog. I hope you enjoy it!
